Tracking expenses for the P&L

Adding, editing, and attaching receipt photos to expenses.

Without entering expenses, your P&L only shows revenue minus Plyrium fees — useless for understanding profitability. Get in the habit of logging every business expense, even small ones.

Add an expense

    Click 'Add expense' at top of /portal/reports/pnl

    Opens a modal.

    Pick the category

    12 categories tuned for U.S. home-service contractors: materials, subcontractor, wages, vehicle, tools, software, marketing, insurance, office, professional, licenses, other.

    Amount + date + vendor + description

    Amount in dollars (decimals OK). Date defaults to today in your timezone. Vendor and description are optional — but useful for IRS audit trail.

    Save

    Lands on the P&L immediately under the right category. Edit/delete inline by hovering the row.

Receipt photos

Each expense row has a Receipt button. Click it to upload a photo (camera roll on mobile) or PDF — up to 10 MB. Stored privately in our cloud; only owner + billing roles can view, and viewing is via short-lived signed URLs (10 min) so files don't leak. Replace or delete anytime.

Habit tip

When you get back to the truck after a parts run, snap the receipt + log it on the spot from your phone. Way easier than waiting for the end of the month and trying to remember what every $87.42 was.
